Clueless Drivers

So I’ll try to explain this one so you get the appropriate visual.  I had to laugh as I watched it happen.

I was at the red light on School St. southbound at the intersection of School and Mt. Auburn (heading towards Arsenal.)  As the light for the Mt. Auburn traffic turned yellow, a car heading east on Mt. Auburn wanted to turn left on School Street.  As he started to creep into the westbound lane to make the turn, a blue Saab which was heading eastbound sat on his horn, honking the entire way through the interstection (and I think some hand getstures and yelling from inside the car were made as well.)  The Saab was obviously upset that this driver would have the nerve to creep out to try to make the turn before the light turned red.

It was at this point that I noticed the Saab, still honking and gesturing in anger at the nerve of the other car, HAD HIS RIGHT BLINKER ON.  It’s obvious that the car attempting the left turn saw the Saab with his blinker on, assuming he was going to take a right on School Street.  In fact he didn’t turn right (which caused all the commotion) and I watched as the Saab continued down the road with his blinker still on, passing at least 2 streets without taking a right turn.

It’s one thing to chastise someone when they are at fault and you’ve done nothing wrong, but it’s entirely another to cause a scene, only to find out that you were responsible.  I just wonder when he realized his blinker was on.  I wish I had followed him so I could have seen the look on his face when he realized he had been driving with his blinker on (although something makes me think a person like that wouldn’t have found the irony in this story)
